The next morning we ventured to Passeig del Born for Trobada de gegantons infantils. This event was a parade of the Laias as well as figurines and musicians from multiple schools around Barcelona. It was absolutely lovely watching the children's creations as well as the children happily playing music, dancing, and waving to the crowds.

On Sunday morning we made our way to Placa St Jaume to watch the incredible Castellers from several groups in Barcelona. A Castell is a human tower and the Castellers we saw were amazing! The groups consist of women, men, teenagers, and even young children who defy gravity and deftly climb each other to create stunning towers.
We ended up entering the plaza via the same route as the groups. We got to see the groups getting ready for their routines, practicing a bit, and finally watched them enter with cheering, dancing, and excitement!
The Castellers was one of the coolest events we have ever witnessed.
Throughout the weekend we also watched musicians and dancers in front of the Catedral de Barcelona, Another parade up Las Ramblas and through the Gothic quarter, and somehow everywhere we went we ended up running into the lion figurine.
The festival was a fantastic and special way to start our week in Barcelona!
