Victoria & Albert's - Queen Victoria Room
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, 4401 Floridian Way, Orlando, FL 32830
We checked in early and were seated right away. However I felt that this was to our detriment as we sat there with no one welcoming us for a while. We also didn't receive a welcome cocktail like other reviews. Our two servers very friendly one more knowledgeable then the other. The sommelier also very friendly and personable. We did opt for the wine pairing and each course was perfectly paired. Although I did feel rushed drinking them.
This was a very expensive meal and maybe I would feel differently about it had we not eaten at The Bazaar in Miami first. Almost all of the dishes were beautifully presented, seasoned delicately, and cooked well. The exception for both of us was the first course. For me the course was caviar which was delicious however instead of the cauliflower pana cotta there was a seared piece of cauliflower. Very unappealing as it was basically raw. Greg didn't like his first course either. He felt the panna cotta wasn't set properly.
The star of this dinner really was the Pastry chef! He stole the show! I was given 3 gluten and dairy free breads, sorbet, berries chocolate and cake, and a chocolate "bar," and petite fours. Even Greg said my desserts were superior to his.
When comparing this restaurant to The Bazaar (Miami), Tasting Counter (Boston), and other tasting menu restaurants we were unfortunately let down.

***Bull & Bear
Waldorf Astoria Orlando, 14200 Bonnet Creek Resort Ln, Orlando, FL 32821
We had a reservation and after checking in we sat in the bar area for a short wait. For those concerned with attire we noticed that it really was all over the place. The restaurant offers electronic menus for wine, food, and bill. These were wonderful and similar technology that we've seen on cruise ships. The menus offer descriptions and pictures. To start the meal off right we ordered flat water, red wine, wedge salad, and tuna. We were also offered bread and gluten free bread. For entrees we enjoyed the fried chicken and 2 aged delmonico steaks with Bull frites and creamed corn. We were pretty full so we declined dessert.
*****The Bazaar
1701 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33139
I had been dying to dine at this restaurant for years! It's part of the reason we came to Miami. The decor was fun, vibrant and unique. From the start we received outstanding service. We told our waiter a few items that we wanted and asked that he create a tasting menu with any additions that he thought we needed to try. The dishes were beautifully plated, seasoned perfectly, and completely wowed us with the flavor profiles. Our two favorite dishes were the Iberico Ham de Bellota and the Coconut Rice. The restaurant obviously provides exceptional training for food choices, wine pairing, understanding what the diner wants. The Bazaar has truly become our favorite restaurant we've ever been to!
****Zuma
270 Biscayne Blvd Way, Miami, FL 33131
March 2016
This was our 2nd time dining at Zuma. I actually enjoyed the 2nd time more so than the first. We enjoyed a perfect evening on their terrace. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. 15 courses, cocktails, and plum wine. Everything was dairy free with the exception of one meal which luckily the staff caught the mistake before I ate it.
***Joe's Stone Crab
11 Washington Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33139
March 2016
This was our 2nd visit to this restaurant. Both times we dined here we chose to do so for lunch. The lunch menu is more to our taste than the dinner menu. The restaurant always offers friendly service and easy walk ins. We started lunch with a refreshing chablis wine and stone crab claws, east and west coast oysters. For entrees we opted for the crab nicoise salad and the crab cake sandwich. Everything was delicious!
***Joe's Stone Crab
11 Washington Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33139
We were a walk in party of 4 for lunch. The restaurant was extremely busy but we didn't have a very long wait. The restaurant itself is large and bright and has a historic feel. Halfway through our lunch it became apparent that the lunch service was over. I think the service suffered a bit because of this. For example it took forever to get questions answered, we saw staff handing out paychecks, etc. We enjoyed the shrimp cocktail to start. However the shrimp were a tad overcooked. For entrees we enjoyed the stone crabs, nicoise salad, ribs, and lobster blt. All of the entrees were prepared well and were enjoyable.
****Zuma
270 Biscayne Blvd Way, Miami, FL 33131
The four of us love restaurants like Nobu and Morimoto and so naturally when we heard about Zuma we had to give it a try. The four of us decided to go all out and try their top end prix fixe menu. Most of the dishes were amazing, beautifully presented, and memorable. Unfortunately, a few of the dishes were just okay. I was also displeased that one of the dishes came with butter when i specifically stated I had a dairy allergy. For my friend with a gluten allergy they were able to offer her Tamari instead of soy sauce.
We ended up enjoying 14 courses of food sadly I got too wrapped up in the food to remember to always take pictures. Our 1st course was sea bass sashimi - simple and unadorned making it a beautiful bite. Our 2nd course was beef carpaccio with black truffles - luxurious and tender. Our 3rd course was scallop tartare - bright and with a hint of herbs. Our 4th course was lobster tempura - piping hot and crispy but could have used a hint of brightness. Our 5th course was Kurobuta pork belly - this dish was seasoned well but the top part of the skewer was dry while the rich fat was only at the bottom. Our 6th course was King Crab with ponzu lime butter - naturally I can't speak about this dish but the others enjoyed it. Our 7th course was a sushi platter with Wagyu beef, fatty tuna, sea bass, and salmon - refreshing and had hints of heat from wasabi. Our 8th course was a rice hot pot with mushrooms - warming and comforting. Our 9th course was lobster miso soup - the lobster was rich and the broth was warm and spicy. It reminded me of lobster fra diavola. Our 10th course was baby artichoke with a truffle dressing - good but definitely not a memorable dish. Our 11th course was foie gras - what really made this dish was the accompaniment of umeboshi plums. The salty sweet plums paired beautifully. Our 12th course was Wagyu beef with a variety of sauces - the beef was tender and cooked perfectly. Our 13th course was a type of fresh corn popcorn ball - I wish I wasn't completely stuffed at this point because these were amazing. Crunch, savory, salty, and sweet from the fresh corn, an amazing bite. Our 14th course was dessert. This consists of a dessert tower if you will. It came with a banana cake, a chocolate caramel lava cake, a coconut cake, and a layered dish plus a variety of exotic fruits (Lychee and Rambutan being my favs) and finally a variety of ice creams and sorbets.
Before we dined at Zuma we read a review that said enjoy everything and don't look at the bill. We were very prepared and with all this food, drinks, and gratuity the check was still shockingly large. We paid our bill and stumbled out to a cab and proceeded to complain how full but satisfied we were! If you are looking to completely splurge I highly recommend the prix fixe however you definitely don't need to pay the highest prices to have a terrific meal with amazing food and great service.

***Margaritaville
6000 Universal Blvd #704 Orlando, FL 32819
We were a boisterous group of 8 with priority seating (no reservations taken). After checking in we only had a 5 minute wait. Our waitress came over to the table and we only ordered drinks. I highly recommend It's 5 O'clock somewhere or Last Mango in Paris. Our waitress was friendly, fast, and efficient especially when it came to my dairy allergy.
I can't speak for the food that others ordered but Greg and I enjoyed our meals. We started with the peel and eat shrimp. This is a favorite dish of mine, served cold and seasoned with plenty of Old Bay Seasoning. Greg enjoyed the Baja Fish Tacos. I ordered and enjoyed the Cuban Sandwich (without Swiss Cheese).
For a fun atmosphere, good food, and excellent drinks we recommend Margaritaville.

***First Watch
2425 W State Road 434 #107 Longwood FL
In need of a late breakfast we chose First Watch for their large variety. We were seated right away and immediately offered coffee. We ordered Bacon and Onion Hash with poached eggs (no cheese / dairy products), The Traditional Breakfast with scrambled eggs and sausage, and Carrot Cake Multigrain Pancakes. All of our items were quick, hot, delicious, and cook as asked.
For fresh ingredients and a wonderful breakfast we highly recommend dining at First Watch.

**Bongo's Cuban Cafe
Downtown Disney, Lake Buena Vista FL
We have dined here before and had a great experience. This time around wasn't great at all. The first problem was during check in. There is only one line for those with reservations and those without. We had a reservation and still had to wait in line for a bit. After checking in we were given a slip and told to head upstairs where we would be seated.
The atmosphere in the restaurant is boisterous, fun, and casual. While the music was too loud it should be a good time. Our waitress stopped by our table right away however she wasn't very friendly and definitely wasn't efficient. We ordered drinks and can recommend the strawberry and the pineapple mojito's. Excellent! We ordered a appetizer of fried green plantains with mojo sauce. These are always crispy and delicious although the mojo does pack a punch of garlic.
Our next issue was that our entrees came to the table not even 5 minutes after our appetizer. We ordered Bongo's Salad with Chicken (Oil and Vinegar), Bongo's Famous Fried Shredded Steak, Cuban Style Breaded Steak, and the Chicken Bites. The dressing for the salad wasn't correct and we had to ask two waiters to get oil and vinegar. This request took 10 minutes!
We paid our bill and went downstairs and spoke to the manager. The manager offered to buy us a round of drinks but we declined. We weren't looking for anything to be done other than make them aware of the situation and server.
I can't say after this experience that we would return but the food was good.

*****California Grill
Disney's Contemporary Resort
Disney World, Lake Buena Vista FL
For our last dinner in Disney World we booked with the California Grill. We checked in at the podium on the 2nd floor of the Contemporary Resort. We waited at the elevator and then escorted up to the restaurant. Our table was next to the theater style kitchen (not the best table but not the worst either) and it was decorated with confetti for our anniversary. Our waitress named Becky introduced herself and brought over glasses of complimentary champagne for our celebration.
For starters we ordered the Handmade Potato Gnocchi (Wild Mushrooms, Edamame, Smoked Pork, Organic Soft-poached Egg) and the Florida Peach Salad (Artisanal Greens, Hazelnuts, Blue Cheese Brittle, Peach Vinaigrette). The Gnocchi were light and airy with perfectly cooked ingredients. The Salad was fresh and summery.
I ordered the Oak-fired Filet of Beef (Zuckerman’s Farms Delta Asparagus, Truffled Potatoes, Teriyaki Barbecue) for my entree. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and felt comforted by it. Greg ordered the Florida Soft-shell Crab (Peruvian Purple Corn Pudding, Florida Heirloom Tomato Vinaigrette, Local Peaches. The crab was also a well executed entree.
At 5 minutes to 10:0 p.m. an announcement is made that Wishes Nighttime Spectacular will start shortly. At the California Grill you are able to have a fantastic view right from your table or you can go our to their balcony to watch the fireworks. Since 75% of the restaurant went to the balcony we decided to stay at our table, eat our desserts, and watch the show. I loved Heather's Cookie Plate (Lemon Bars, Mocha Shortbread, Cordials, Single
Peanut Butter Whoopie Pies, and Valhrona Chocolate Milk with Malted Milk Foam) and Greg devoured the Chocolate Croissant Bread Pudding (Toffee Pretzels and Chocolate Malt Ice Cream).

****Rose & Crown Pub
Disney's Epcot Theme Park
Disney World, Lake Buena Vista FL
We arrived a little early for our lunch reservations but were seated without a problem. We had a nice corner table although, the dining area is rather crowded with tables. If you are looking for some private time this probably isn't the restaurant for you. We liked the pub atmosphere. We were greeted by our waitress Amy who was friendly, helpful and naturally had a British accent. For drinks I started off with an Iced Tea (too hot and sunny for alcohol for me) and Greg ordered a Boddingtons (pub ale).
For starters we ordered the Roasted Sea Scallops (Wilted Baby Spinach, Tomato, and Olive Vinaigrette) and the
Mary and the lads (Roasted Shrimp Cocktail with a Spicy Bloody Mary Mix). The scallops were outstanding. They were cooked beautifully and the perfect amount of savoriness. The shrimp cocktail was good but pretty much ordinary.
For entrees we ordered the Corned Beef Sandwich (Warm Corned Beef on Toasted Sunflower Bread with Cheddar, Cabbage, and Horseradish Mayonnaise served with House-made Crisps) and the Fish & Chips (“Rose & Crown’s Signature Dish” Beer-battered and served with House-made Tartar Sauce). Greg enjoyed his sandwich but didn't really rave about it either. My fish and chips were crispy and hot add a splash of malt vinegar and I was happy.
Greg finished off lunch with a Snake Bite (Cider topped with Harp). A Snake Bite doesn't necessarily sound good but it was delicious!

****La Cava del Tequila
Disney's Epcot Theme Park
Disney World, Lake Buena Vista FL
For those of us in Disney without kids and even those with kids who need an "Adult" break you must stop in to La Cava del Tequila. We ventured here after reading so many great reviews about their margaritas. We loved the margarita's so much we actually came back the next day. Our first two drinks we tried were the Blood Orange Margarita and the Cucumber Margarita. Both were refreshing, delicious, and not overly strong. I actually would have preferred another half a shot of tequila.
The second time we stopped for drinks we tried the Jalapeno Margarita and the Avocado Margarita. Greg asked for the Jalapeno Margarita to be in between "American spicy" and "Mexican spicy." The combination was very tasty with the occasional gulp of heat. The Avocado Margarita was smooth, refreshing, and a bit acidic. The only downfall was that after awhile it was a bit like drinking a milkshake and it got to be too heavy.

***Captains Grille
Disney's Yacht Club Resort
Disney World, Lake Buena Vista FL
Greg and I ended up with an extra point through the Disney Dining Plan so we thought why not try the breakfast at our own hotel. We were greeted and escorted to a table in the middle of the restaurant. The restaurant's decor is casual but with warmth. Our waiter came over for our drink order and was pleasant. I wasn't too happy about feeling a little pressure to have breakfast from the buffet though. There also wasn't the "going the extra mile" effort as in other restaurants. Here we were offered coffee and that was it. At other restaurants we were offered a juice and/or a bottle of water to go as part of our drink package.
We ordered off of the menu (which sounds great) however, I think the reason he was trying to get us to purchase the buffet is because the a la carte takes forever to be served. Greg ordered the Eggs Benedict which was good. He has decided that Disney must have a master class for their chefs/cooks on how to properly prepare poached eggs because, they were always perfect. I ordered the Citrus Scented French Toast (Challah Bread with Lavender-infused Strawberry Compote and White Chocolate Ganache with your choice of Bacon or Sausage). This was outstanding, not overly sweet, and cooked beautifully.

***Citricos
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort
Disney World, Lake Buena Vista FL
We booked Citrico's for our 13th Anniversary Dinner. We were greeted by a nice man and shown personalized menus. We were seated close to the theater island cooking area. We were seated for a good amount of time before Aicha introduced herself. The 2nd problem was that we were never offered flat or sparkling water. We were given tap water and that was it.
Greg and I decided to order the wine paired with each of our appetizers and entrees. The wines didn't disappoint. For starters Greg ordered the Charcuterie Plate (Prosciutto di Parma, Beef Bresaola, Duck Breast Prosciutto, Florida Heirloom Tomatoes, Pecorino Romano, Marcona Almonds, Balsamic Glaze, and Multigrain Croutons).
I ordered the Braised Trio of Beets (with Granny Smith Apple Salad, Honey-glazed Pistachios,Lemon-Chive Goat Cheese, and Golden Beet Coulis). Both were delicious, full of flavor, and good portion size.
In between our starters and our entrees our waitress (who was very friendly) was hardly seen. When we did see her she was running back towards the kitchen but never returned with anything. We weren't sure if they were closing up the main kitchen or if she was also working for Victoria and Alberts (another restaurant in the same area). For entrees Greg ordered Pan Seared Alaskan Halibut (Delta Asparagus Risotto, Meyer Lemon Marmalade, and Pea Shoot Salad). I ordered the Madeira Braised Shortribs (Trofie Pasta, Wild Mushroom Ragoût, and Truffle Crème Fraîche). The Entrees were outstanding! Perfectly cooked, strong but good flavors, and good portion size again.
This is where the evening took a down turn. While we are still eating and there were still at least 3 other tables, the chefs at the theater island were closing up for the night. We got to watch them wrap stuff, clean stuff, and put stuff away. Not exactly the ambience we were hoping for. We were more so annoyed because we ate at the same time each night in Disney (9:00 - 10:00 p.m.) and didn't encounter this situation at any other restaurant.
For dessert Greg ordered the Lemon Scented Cheesecake (with a blanket of White Chocolate Ganache). I ordered the Warm Chocolate Banana Torte. Both Desserts were delicious with the right amount of sweetness. The desserts were also presented with chocolate "Happy Anniversary" ribbons.

****Tutto Italia
Disney's Epcot Theme Park
Disney World,
Lake Buena Vista FL
Tutto Italia recently went through a thorough restoration. The restaurant re-opened 2 weeks prior to our vacation. The new menu looked fabulous to us so we switched our reservation from Via Napoli to Tutto Italia.
For drinks we ordered a Moretti (italian beer) and a Rossini (prosecco and strawberry puree). Greg's appetizer was Proscuitto di Parma with crostini and a type of marmalade. I ordered the Fried Zucchini Flowers stuffed with lemon and ricotta. Both appetizers were delicious although presentation could have been a little better.
For our main courses Greg ordered the Porchetta (roast pork sandwich). I ordered the Tonnarelli (handmade pasta with mint, burratta, and zucchini). The entrees were delicious and plentiful.
We finished off dinner with some dessert. Greg ordered the Ricotta di Pecora con Insalta di Gragole E Miele AI Fiori (Ricotta and Strawberries). I tried the Torta di Nocciole "Cortemilia" (Hazelnut and polenta cake). Greg's dessert was delicious however, mine was on the dry and crumbly side.

****Kouzzina
Disney's Boardwalk Resort
Disney World,
Lake Buena Vista FL
We were able to get up and take a lovely morning walk around the lake from Disney's Yacht Club to Disney's Boardwalk Resort. We had made breakfast reservations at Kouzzina, created by Cat Cora.
Our waitress Amy was so friendly and so nice to talk to. We ended up having a conversation about road trips. Amy and her fiance will be taking a road trip to New England this fall and naturally since we love road trips and we are from New England we were glad to pass out some tips.
For breakfast we enjoyed a very nice coffee. Hot, freshly brewed, and a lovely nutty flavor.
Greg ordered the Stacked Breakfast which included
Two poached eggs, Kalamata Olive Toast, Artichoke Spread, and Sweet Potato Hash with Bacon.
I ordered the Greek Yogurt which included
Honey, Fresh Berries, Housemade Granola, and a Sesame Seed Cookie
Everything was delicious, and made fresh.

*****Jiko
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge
Disney World,
Lake Buena Vista FL
Coffee Rubbed Black Grouper
Jiko is one of our favorite restaurants in the world. Not just Disney World. We have dined here 4 times and each time has been terrific.
We were welcomed to our table and wished a Happy Anniversary. We were also given a card with well wishes signed by the restaurant staff. Our server Mike was friendly, attentive, and also gave us space. We started off by ordering a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc from Mulderbosch Vineyards. Our wine came from South Africa and its one we have enjoyed before.
For appetizers we enjoyed:
Crispy Beef Bobotie Roll
Jiko Salad
- Both were delicious and well presented
For entrees we ordered:
Coffee Rubbed Black Grouper
“Bunny Chow” and “Falafel” Durban Curry Vegetables with Naan Bread (Mango Ketchup, Harissa Mustard, and Chickpea-Lentil Cake with Cilantro Yogurt, Wilted Greens, and Peppadew-Olive Tapenade)
- Greg's Grouper was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. My vegetarian entree was very tasty with the right combination of heat, salt, and sweet. However, I did find the "falafel" to be a tad on the dry side.
For desserts we had:
Madagascar Vanilla Cheesecake
Chocolate Tea Safari
- The desserts were both fabulous and definitely hit the spot

****Babycakes NYC
Downtown Disney,
Lake Buena Vista FL
We recently found out my little cousin has developed an allergy to dairy. Porscha and I love to bake when we are together and naturally this is something that needs to be modified now. I had read about Babycakes and thought this would be perfect! Babycakes is great for us for more than one reason. Whenever I am in Orlando or NYC I can purchase cupcakes to bring home. The second reason is that on the Babycakes website they sell cupcake and frosting mixes for you to make at home and all are dairy free!
While in Orlando Greg and I tried the vanilla and the red velvet cupcakes. Both were moist and tasty. Yes they aren't the same as a traditional cupcake but they are a great 2nd place!

**** Bongo's Cuban Cafe
Downtown Disney,
Lake Buena Vista FL
Bongo's has a really fun atmosphere. That being said the restaurant is very loud and somehow manages to get louder later in the evening. We were a table of 6 and by the end of dinner all of us had sore throats from having to speak loudly. We were seated inside and upstairs at a table near the windows. Unfortunately, another employee asked us to move to the railing area because they need several tables for a party of 20. Not off to the best start. The service was extremely slow until Assim became our waiter. Assim was very friendly, accommodating, and had a great sense of humor.
Greg and I were on the Disney Dining Plan while the rest of the party weren't. As part of our Deluxe Dining Plan we get an appetizer each. Assim was very nice in letting us have our appetizers for the table. We enjoyed:
Tostones (Green Plaintains) with a garlic mojo sauce
Fried Stuffed Potatoes
The drinks were also lots of fun our party had Sangria, Tropical Mojito, Strawberry Mojito, and beer.
My entree was the Bongos Famous Masilas de Puerca (Cuban Mojo Marinated Fried Pork bites topped with Grilled Onions served with Moro Rice & Fried Sweet Plantains). This dish was very tasty although the pork was fattier than I had hoped. Greg enjoyed the Lechon Asado (Slow roasted pork leg with mojo served with Moro
and Fried Sweet Plantaìns). This dish was delicious.
We were so full from dinner we decided to forego desserts even though they were included in our dining plan.

A fun and family friendly restaurant for breakfast! We enjoyed coffee, ham and eggs, corned beef hash, eggs and sausages, and french toast (there were 4 of us). All of the meals were delicious and our waitress was extremely friendly!

The good: The pulled pork and the ribs were both tender. The Sweet tea was tasty.
The bad: Pulled pork should never be served on a sausage roll. I tried the regular bbq sauce and the sweet sauce. Both of them basically tasted like ketchup. My husband said the hot sauce was okay although still very much tasting like ketchup.

My husband and I have become very familiar with good BBQ over the years including learning how to smoke pork ourselves. Four Rivers was a close second to our favorite BBQ restaurant.
My husband enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and corn. I enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato casserole and fried okra. Our friends enjoyed the pulled chicken.

We loved eating at Raglan Road. The restaurant is nicely decorated, service friendly, dancers and musicians were great! My husband and I ate here with another couple.
My friend had the Drunken Chicken (which is an appetizer) for her meal and she felt it was lacking in flavor.
The rest of us had:
The bread with guinness reduction
Fish and Chips
Shepherds Pie
Sirloin Steak
---------------------------These were all delicious
