Paulaner AM Dom
Domplatz 6 60311 Frankfurt
We started with a couple of Radlers (beer and lemonade so yummy). I chose the Winterwurst for my meal. The bratwurst and almonds and dried plums in the sausage. The dish came with sauerkraut and potatoes with rosemary. The dish was terrific. The sausage had a smooth texture with an added crunch from the almonds, the sauerkraut was wonderful (how have I never tried this), and the potatoes felt like home. Greg chose Bratwurst that came in rich beer and mustard gravy with creamy mashed potatoes.
For dessert we split an Apple Strudel. Flaky crust, soft apples, plump raisins and an unbelievably good vanilla sauce. With all of this on the plate I was most impressed that the dish wasn't overly sweet. As we were getting ready to go we asked our waitress was alcohol everyone was ordering. She told us that it was Schnapps and that they have many flavors. Naturally we felt we had to try some. I ordered a Hazelnut Schnapps and Greg ordered a Strawberry Schnapps. They were delicious and very strong.

Urban Kitchen
Börsenstraße 14, 60313 Frankfurt am Main, Germany
After telling the host of our reservation we were seated right away. Our waiter seemed to have too many tables and therefore we waited a good amount of time for English menus and to place an order for drinks.
We started our meal with Radlers (beer with lemonade) and an order of Grilled Octopus. The Octopus was lightly marinated, tender and when you had a touch of lemon juice it was perfect.
For entree's Greg ordered a burger. The burger was good but nothing special. The french fries that accompanied were perfect. I ordered the green curry duck. The duck was tender with incredibly crispy skin. The rice was fluffy, and the vegetables were just okay. The sauce was supposed to be the spicier curry however it was at best mild. The flavor of the curry was good though.
For a variety of cuisines and good flavors I would recommend Urban Kitchen.
P.S. I did come back to Urban Kitchen once for lunch. I ordered the same meal (I was totally craving the crispy duck). The meal itself was pretty good however the service was severely lacking! The waiter was almost bordering on rude. I don't know if it was a bad day for him, because I was solo, or because I spoke English. I was also a bit perturbed by the fact that he told me in order to use my credit card the total had to be at least $25 Euros. I believe my meal was $15 Euros. I ended using cash instead of giving him a $10 Euro tip!!

Apfelwein Klaus
Kaiserhofstraße 18, 60313 Frankfurt am Main, Germany
We previously made reservations online and even though the restaurant was a bit slow a table was reserved for us. The atmosphere is fabulous. You are in what feels like a wine cave with common tables. The service was nice, spoke English, and was pretty fast. I ordered the Pork Schnitzel with lemon. Lightly battered, then fried and served with potatoes. The dish reminded me of home with my parents for some reason. Greg enjoyed the sausage platter of course accompanied by sauerkraut.

Zur Germania
Textorstraße 16, 60594 Frankfurt am Main, Germany
We entered the little courtyard of Zur Germania and found an open table. Our waiter brought us menus but since they were only in German we asked him for some suggestions. He was patient and very nice and easily suggested the Pork Knuckle and the Schnitzel with Frankfurt green sauce.
We started our meal with a couple of beers and then realized we should have ordered Apfelwein. Apfelwein is a lightly carbonated drink from apples. It's kind of a cross between a cider and an apple wine. It's on the tart side but not harshly so. You can order the drink straight or mixed with water. We decided to order it straight.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Schnitzel with green sauce. The green sauce is a combination of sour cream, yogurt, and 7 herbs. Thankfully dairy in Germany doesn't upset my stomach because this sauce is amazing!! Greg's dish was definitely the best one though. The Pork Knuckle (shank) was roasted to perfection. The meat was tender and came right off of the bone, the fat had been melted away, and the flavor was slightly smoky. Delicious!!
Our waiters shift was ending so we didn't get to choose a dessert or a schnapps to end the meal. This didn't ruin our experience though and definitely would recommend a visit here!

Hilton Frankfurt
HOCHSTRASSE 4, 60313 FRANKFURT AM MAIN, GERMANY
We received a very friendly and very informative check in. The staff told us all about the hotel, the breakfast, and executive lounge, and more.
Our room was on the 10th floor and allowed us into the Executive Lounge on the 11th floor. The room was large and nicely laid out but the best part was the beautiful view of the park and city. The large bathroom offers a sink area, toilet, shower, and separate bathtub. The room also was terrific for having a bar area with cups, tea, kettle and mini fridge. The closet was of good size and had a safe in it. The rest of the room had a large king bed, flat screen tv, chair and foot rest, desk and chair, and lots of drawer space. Prior to arrival we asked for extra towels and neck pillows and these arrived at our door shortly after we checked in. As Hilton Honors Gold Members we do have the perk of free wifi, two bottles of water complimentary, use of the Executive Lounge (if staying on those floors), and breakfast.
Throughout our stay all of the staff were attentive, sociable, and very good at what they do. The Executive Lounge always offered a variety of interesting drinks and nibbles. The breakfast spread was lovely, the afternoon tea was scrumptious, and the evenings were relaxing.
The Bar area was relaxed and inviting and the waitresses were very nice and were really fun to talk to. The one complaint I have about the Bar area is some of the seats are awkward. You either are too low to the ground, or sitting too far back.
We also dined at the restaurant. Once for lunch and once for dinner. I was a solo diner for lunch and i sat at a nice table with a view of outside (people watching). I ordered a Tom Collins, Nuremberg sausages (came with a dark gravy, sauerkraut, and mashed potatoes). The dish was good but definitely not as good as the local restaurants.
For dinner one night we each started with the Mixed Lettuce Salad (crispy, fresh, and not overly dressed). For my entree I ordered the Argentinian Filet (a touch over cooked) with mushrooms and onions (smoky and savory) and truffled mashed potatoes (creamy and rich). Greg ordered the Venison. He enjoyed his meal I however definitely realized I do not like venison!
On our last night at the hotel we decided to order dessert from room service. I opted for the Apple Strudel (with whipped cream and vanilla sauce). The dish was good but it wasn't a traditional dough for the pastry. Greg enjoyed a trio of Creme Brulee. We also had a delightful talk with the waiter who brought the desserts.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Frankfurt and would be thrilled to return.
