Hilton Memphis
939 Ridge Lake Boulevard, Memphis, TN 38120
We pulled up to the Hilton Memphis and parked on our own. The parking lot is large and a quick walk into the hotel. Check is was easy however we were not given our chosen room (from online check in) due to our pet friendly needs. The hotel is pet friendly but only on the 2nd floor (which is a floor below the main lobby). I really wasn't too pleased about this considering this information isn't available beforehand. We accepted the room and made our way downstairs. The room was of good size, clean, and designed well. The downfall to this room is the bathroom. The sink area is outside of the bathroom (something I feel is more like a Hampton Inn rather than a Hilton) and the toilet and shower area was dark and small.
The area the hotel is in is quiet and you are a short drive from restaurants and shops. All in all if we were to visit Memphis again I would stay here for a 2nd time.

Hilton Nashville Downtown
121 4th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37201
We pulled up to the front of the hotel and chose the valet option. The Hotel is in a great area. It is within walking distance to lots of sights including Country Music Hall of Fame, Broadway, Ryman Auditorium, and more! Check in was very easy (pre-check in online also helps). We were given room 726. The Suite was modern, clean, large, and offered a great view. Room 407 was quiet, offered a living room area, work area, large bedroom, two flat screen tvs, a large bathroom, and a roomy shower. The room also offers a view of the Country Music Hall of Fame. I love having a room to sit and relax in and a separate bedroom area when we are traveling. The staff at the Hilton Nashville Downtown are some of the friendliest and most helpful we encountered on our road trip. The staff were always able to help us with questions, the pet friendly areas in the hotel, and some restaurant ideas.
Hilton Nashville Downtown is super pet friendly! In addition to the room being pet friendly, we were able to enjoy drinks in the lobby with Fred, and bring Fred into the concierge lounge (non-food side). All three of us highly recommend a stay for when you're visiting Nashville!

Hampton Inn
1025 Interstate Dr, Cookeville, TN 38501
The staff were friendly and already had our keys waiting for us. Obviously this meant we weren't going to be upgraded (Hilton Honors benefit). We entered our room and unfortunately the room was not clean. Two staff members came up to look over the room and agreed with us. I understand these things happen but I also think they should be handled in a certain manner. The staff offered to switch us to another room but it would be a queen room instead of a king room. We were also not offered any compensation. This experience definitely wasn't worth our Hilton Honors points used.

One & Only BBQ
1779 Kirby Pkwy #1a, Germantown, TN 38138
For lunch we decided to stop and try One & Only BBQ in Memphis. The restaurant does have a few outdoor tables and they are pet friendly! We were so happy to get out of the car, get some fresh air, and enjoy a leisurely lunch. One & Only BBQ is in my opinion kind of a mix of cuisines. You have a little BBQ, a little Greek, and a little Southern influences. We started our order with the smoked wings. The wings were cooked well and offered a lot of flavor. I ordered the brisket with french fries (gluten free and dairy free except for the fries are in a shared fryer). I enjoyed my lunch however because the brisket is sliced so thin it is very dry and not too tender. I prefer a thick slice of brisket with a little bit of fat on it to maintain the tenderness. Greg ordered the pulled pork and with the accompaniement of sauces he enjoyed his lunch. The highlight of the meal was only enjoyed by Greg sadly. The enormous bowl of their famous Banana Pudding was wiped clean!
