We aren't vegans but with my lactose intolerance and our hope to be more animal-friendly we looked up and enjoyed several vegan options in Barcelona.
Just down the street from our hotel was Demasie. At Demasie you will find the most delicious variety of cinnamon rolls. Including a vegan cinnamon roll. These cinnamon rolls were our breakfast twice during our stay. The vegan roll was soft, sweet, a slight crunch from nuts and a touch of I'm guessing orange zest. Absolutely delicious!
After lunch one day at the Santa Caterina Market we came across Gud Polos Helados. Gud offers sweets that are free of dairy, gluten, and sugar but packed with flavor! I tried the coconut and mango bar as well as the mango and chocolate bar. Both frozen bars were tasty but the texture was definitely better with the coconut milk.
Right around the corner from Las Ramblas is Chok. Chok offers beautiful and delicious donuts as well as chocolates. I loved the large variety of vegan options! For breakfast one morning I opted for the peanut butter and jelly donut. The donut was tender, not overly sweet, and the peanut butter topping was nice and smooth.
During our time in Barcelona, we walked everywhere! While walking to the Basilica Sagrada Familia we stopped for brunch at Eat My Trip. The restaurant is adorable and is very popular with tourists and locals alike. We were seated in the back of the restaurant and given a few minutes to look over the menu. For drinks we ordered a coffee for Greg and a matcha latte with coconut milk for me. On this occasion, Greg had the vegan option of Sherlocks Porridge while I enjoyed the Thai Benedict Eggs (that are dairy-free). The Porridge was tasty and filling. My eggs were good although it was kind of served colder than I would have hoped for.
We definitely ate a lot during our trip but never had a chance to check out these other vegan spots. Based on reviews and how things looked as we walked by you should definitely check them out!
