We had some tough decisions to make! Yesterday we missed out on Santa Fe because we did so many Route 66 stops. Today we knew we wanted to visit Montezuma Castle National Monument and Sedona AZ. In order to do that we would have to skip a lot of our road side attractions. One attraction we couldn't miss was the new addition of the Musical Road on Route 66 in Tijeras NM. Extremely unique! In Camp Verde AZ you must stop and visit Montezuma Castle National Monument. The park and store is pet friendly in fact all of the staff we met absolutely loves dogs! Inside the park it's a short walk to the cliff dwellings, picnic area, and the river front. Inside the store you will find lots of little souvenirs. Afterwards we headed north to Sedona AZ. Sedona is like a magical oasis to me. There is something about the red rocks, the architecture, the people and the food that really resonated with me. We wandered through the shops and gallery's (which were extremely pet friendly) and found some beautiful sculptures, pieces of art, and natural red rock gifts. For dinner we had an amazing meal on the pet friendly patio at Creekside Sedona. For my full dinner review visit here. We made one last stop at Whole Foods in Sedona AZ for supplies for our camping nights in Moab UT before heading north. The road we took to Flagstaff was definitely one of the prettiest and probably scariest (for me being afraid of heights lol). Luckily it started to get dark and so what you can't see can't scare you. We checked into the DoubleTree by Hilton Flagstaff hotel and settled in for the night. For my hotel review visit here.
