This month we'll be traveling to Philadelphia and exploring the areas we missed last year. A big part of our travels is food! Before every trip, I research restaurants, gourmet shops, food halls, specialty stores, bars, and more. I use a variety of online sites and compare reviews from everyday patrons, travels, to critics. On the first night of our trip we'll be dining at Morimoto Philadelphia. This will be our 4th Morimoto restaurant and we're hoping it lives up to our other experiences. I am dying to eat at Zahav on our second night but so far we are only waitlisted. This is what happens when you're wishy washy about where to travel to next. I'll also looking into Suraya, Hiroki, and El Techo in case Zahav doesn't open up. The new places we'll be visiting (new to us) are Indpendence Hall, Liberty Bell Center, hopefully the Rodin Museum, Di Bruno Bros, and Shane Confectionery (which is the longest running confectionery in the US). We'll be heading back to Mothership Toy Gallery, Reading Terminal Market, and The Bourse (we loved the Filipino food from Lalo).
I'll be posting to Instagram while we are there and sharing our favorite finds when we get back!!

I am a born and raised Bostonian and of course I love supporting made in Massachusetts products. When planning my sister's wedding in Paris, France I wanted to bring a small token of appreciation to everyone in Paris who helped plan our stay and the wedding itself. I decided to make small gift bags of products made here. Here's a few of the artisans I researched and bought from as well as a few others who I have been known to buy for myself. Mayval Maple Farm is located in Westhampton MA. They sell delicious maple syrup in a variety of sizes. Taza Chocolate in Somerville MA makes Mexican chocolate style discs, bars, and chocolate dipped products. McCrea's Candies is in Hyde Park MA and make smooth caramels in traditional flavors as well as unique ones like rosemary truffle salt. Martha's Vineyard Sea Salt hails from a small family run farm on Martha's Vineyard in MA. The farm salt in a variety of sizes, flavors, and now in handcrafted sea glass jars. Cape Cod Lavender Farm in Harwich MA is on my must visit list for this summer. June / July is their harvesting season and I'm hoping I'll be there for it. They have products for body, home, and of course for culinary purposes. I use lavender for my lemon and lavender cupcakes but I am dying to try their lavender marmalade. Harbor Sweets in Salem MA has been a favorite of mine for years. Sweet Sloops are almond crunch toffee that are sailboat shaped and dipped in white chocolate. Watch out they are addictive! If you have come across any fabulous Made is Massachusetts products that I should include I'd love to hear from you!
Barcelona is one of my favorite cities that we have visited. The combination of history, architecture, art, and modern life makes your visit exciting and intriguing. The food you will find is a result of that combination of life in Barcelona. You can find traditional dishes that comfort you, new takes on dishes you love, and then dishes that you never expected and are nervous about trying but are completely worth it!
