This week our precious Bucket's body could no longer keep up with his vivacious spirit.
We were devastated to see the beginning signs of a spinal injury again. We noticed something was of but hoped it was soreness or arthritis because Bucket didn't jump, run, or do anything to injure himself.Greg brought him to or local vet and they thought it could be his anal glands. When Bucket got home all he wanted to do was lay down. When he didn't want to get up for outside or treats we knew it wasn't good. We called Mass Veterinary Hospital and off to the E.R. we went. A few hours later we discovered he had another spine injury but this time in his neck. Greg and I were crushed at the thought of having to put him down but we put or selfishness aside because the alternative would be worse for him. Bucket would have had to be on multiple medicines, crated, and on full restrictions for 4 to 6 weeks. If he got worse and/or didn't show improvement he would need surgery again and months of restriction and therapy. After that he could very easily hurt himself again. This option is not the quality of life that our Bucket deserved. Bucket is now in a better place, free of pain, running, jumping, and watching over us all. We will always love him, miss him, and remember how blessed we were to have him i'm or lives.

Things are starting to come together for our cruise. First I must share how much I am in love with the packing solutions from Eagle Creek. I've told you before how i'm an over-packer and for this trip we're really trying to limit the number of suitcases we bring. I ordered the Pack It Folder 20 (perfect for Greg's pants, suits, and my dresses) and two of the Pack It Double Cube. We were able to fit all of my clothes (shorts, dresses, scarves, bathing suits, and tank tops) in one and all of Greg's clothes (shorts, t shirts, polo's) into the other. With all of our stuff we only filled half of our suitcase! Yes!!! Now i just need to fit in our toiletries and the rest of my checklist.
Before the cruise we are spending a night in Miami! I'm so excited! We're heading to South Beach (1st time) and staying at the South Beach Marriott. For dinner we have reservations at Zuma. This restaurant looks amazing for atmosphere, drinks, and inventive cuisine! Our cruise is on Celebrity's Reflection. Both our friends and us opted to try to the Aqua Class Rooms. This is our first time on Celebrity so it'll be great to compare them to (Princess and Holland America). During our cruise we will be partaking in the Premium Beverage Package (thanks to the 123 go promotion). We have also decided to book one of Celebrity's Alcove's for a couple days. It'll be so nice to not have to fight the chair hogs! In Puerto Rico we have decided to dine at Pikayo. I have wanted to try this restaurant for years and we are so happy it's finally happening. We have visited St Thomas numerous times and only St John once before. For this trip we're going to explore St John on our own. I'm excited to see St Martin. Friends of ours love this island and have always shared their memories of it with us. We're not 100% sold on what we want to do yet hopefully Celebrity will get their website functioning again!!! With so much going on lately work, dogs, family, stress we are so much looking forward to this cruise! We could definitely use some R&R.......then comes Christmas yikes ;-) |
