Miami and Orlando - March 2016

Time for a road trip!!! After a couple months of worry, hospitals, and lots of changes my family was doing well enough for us to go on our vacation. 

Greg and I hopped in the car and headed south! Naturally once we are passed the Mason Dixon Line we crave BBQ! We stopped at Lone Star BBQ in Santee SC for some delicious and dairy free BBQ! 

Continuing on our way to Miami we spent the night at the Hilton Garden Inn in Jacksonville FL. For the review of our stay visit here. The next morning we got up early and made our way to Miami for some beach time!! We pulled up to the Hilton Bentley Miami/South Beach. The next morning we enjoyed the warm and sunny weather at the beach! Around lunch time the service began to fall behind so we headed back to the pool area restaurant. That night for dinner we decided to go back to Zuma. This time we opted to dine on the patio area. For our dinner review visit here. 

On our last full day in Miami we decided to check out the Art Deco area, Hispaniola Way, and enjoy some more beach time! The only thing I regret is not getting over to Romero Britto's Gallery but there's always next time! For dinner we had one of the best meals of our lives! We dined at The Bazaar! The next morning we headed north to Orlando. We were going to spend time with one of my best friends, relax, and see a bit of Disney World. We pulled up and checked into the Waldorf Astoria Orlando. For my full review with pictures visit here. My friend met us in the lobby and we enjoyed some drinks and appetizers in lounge. The herb french fries were amazing! Once our room was ready we got to spend some quality time chatting thanks to the living room in our suite. For dinner the three of us went downstairs to Bull & Bear. The next day we went to Disney Springs for some shopping and lunch. I love this area. We got Disney gifts for family, "dolls" for Greg to paint, clothing for me, and yummy goodies! We ate lunch at Bongo's where I found mint lemonade - yum!! We also stopped in to Erin McKenna's Bakery for some vegan goodies! Unfortunately my stomach didn't tolerate these as well as other vegan baked goods. 

On our last day in Orlando we went to Epcot. We were able to get our tickets ahead of time at the Waldorf Resort. Yay no ticket lines! When we go to Epcot we do go on some rides but we basically shop and drink our way through the countries! Our first stop is always Mexico for Margarita's at La Cava del tequila!! 

It was so hot, humid, and sunny that we were completely wiped out and ended up canceling our reservations for dinner at Morimoto's. We opted to enjoy some down time and room service for the night!

The next day we made the long drive home to our little Fred! Stopping along the way for some southern produce, and snacks!
